Rep. Charlie Meier Proud to Serve as Trump Alternate Delegate at RNC

MILWAUKEE, WI - Rep. Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) arrived in Milwaukee this weekend to proudly serve as an Alternate Delegate for Donald J. Trump. Meier will join the Illinois delegation to come together to show support for President Trump and our country. 

“I’m proud to be in Milwaukee to stand with President Trump as an Alternate Delegate,” said Meier. “I’m looking forward to a productive and energetic week, and am excited to see President Trump accept his nomination to be our party’s candidate for President this fall.”

Meier also reflected on the attempted assassination of President Trump this weekend. “I continue to lift up in prayer President Trump, the victims, the first responders, and all others injured following the senseless assassination attempt. As I reflect on the shooting, I’m reminded of President Trump’s incredible rally in Murphysboro in 2018. I was honored to sit behind the President while he was speaking to my colleagues, friends, and neighbors. Thinking that innocent bystanders were murdered and injured in the same general spot we were sitting is a heavy feeling. I will continue to pray for our country.”

The Republican National Convention starts on Monday, July 15 and concludes Thursday, July 18.
