Conservative State Rep. Charlie Meier Files for Re-Election

Springfield, IL — Today, Conservative Republican State Representative Charlie Meier filed his petitions to run for re-election in the 109th District, submitting over 1,700 signatures, over three times the required number, in an outpouring of grassroots support.

“Southern Illinois patriots have never been shy, and today we sent a loud message to the Chicago Democrats and their allies that we will not be bullied,” said Meier. “I’m running again because Southern Illinois is under attack from politicians who don’t understand us. Their higher taxes, reckless spending, and attacks on our freedoms are making life harder for working families. I’ll keep fighting for our way of life.”

Rep. Charlie Meier is one of the most conservative members of the General Assembly. He circulated the most petitions for President Trump statewide to get him on the ballot, and he extended that grassroots network to his own re-election campaign.

“Thank you, Southern Illinois! I’m humbled by the outpouring of support from families, farmers, and neighbors who share my belief in faith, hard work, and the need for America First leadership,” said Meier. “These signatures represent more than names on paper. They represent trust, shared values, and a willingness to stand up and fight back against the local Democrat plants who seek to undermine our movement.”

A lifelong farmer and lifelong resident of Washington County, Meier has been a consistent voice for Southern Illinois, fighting to protect jobs, defend individual rights, and keep government accountable to the people. He’s known for cutting through red tape, championing families who care for loved ones with disabilities, and standing up for rural communities too often ignored by Springfield politicians.
